I'm still alive.... but....

Oh, bloody hell.

Sorry guys, I know I haven't posted in forever, but all kinds of WEIRD stuff has been happening, and I haven't felt up to posting a lot of stuff lately. I've met Show a couple of times since my last post, but... well, it looks like things have been fucked up somewhat.

Put very, very simply - I may post a more complete version of this, once I know all the facts for certain - DO NOT TRUST JEALOUS WOMEN. Basically, someone I know has been telling everyone that Show hates me and doesn't want anything to do with me... and Show has been kinda weird(er than usual) when meeting me the last few times. As in, doesn't seem happy to see me etc.

More of an explanation...This girl met Show at an event we both went to, and Show was kinda acting oddly with me (he was REALLY kind to the other fans, but when I went to talk to him, his face went from "Happy-fan-meeting-face" to "FML-face")... and he wasn't acting as friendly as usual... this girl talked to him alone after I left the party, because I was kinda upset and I didn't want to stay there... and she sent me a mail saying that I should leave him alone and not try to talk to him or email him or anything, because he's annoyed by me and he doesn't want to talk to me any more. And she got his autograph :/

Seems like someone is causing trouble... I asked Yamaguchi-san if there was some kind of problem, but he said everything was OK! But Show is still being... well, kinda not very nice to me :/

*sigh* I just don't know what the fuck is going on, to be honest. It could be something very bad, or it could be nothing at all. But it fucking hurts like you wouldn't even believe.

Sayonara Sekai TL (first draft!)

mood: accomplished

Even if the world ends now
Don't let go of my hand as we run away
I want you to trust me, don't be scared of anything
Even if tomorrow never comes

Goodbye world (wow) Turn around, and let's go
I'm not alone (wow) It's the first time I've known
Goodbye world (wow) Let's ride together, Oh baby
It's time for our departure (wow) My Life is Your Life

You're running with your hand in mine, our hearts are pounding
This kind of heart-warming thing
I always knew, I knew all along
I held on a little stronger

You're here, you're right here
I always wanted this feeling
My thoughts overflow, and my tears fall
I will become stronger, much stronger
Just to become kinder

I met you, I changed
For the first time, I was grateful I was born
I met you, I was changed
My dear friend, I care for you more than myself

Goodbye world (wow) Turn around, and let's go
I'm not alone (wow) It's the first time I've known
Goodbye world (wow) If you're here, Oh baby
I need nothing else (wow) My Life is Your Life

You are here, there's always tomorrow
Go with me...

There are one or two lines I think I can improve on, so I'll come back and edit those later :P

*This verse was pretty difficult to translate well (T_T) I need more practice at this sort of thing....

What is occurring?!

So, I was teaching English yesterday (which isn't surprising, after all I am an English teacher....)

One of my students (let's call her Takako, because that's her name) told me that one of her sisters-in-law is a Kishidan fan! And she asked her, just for giggles, if she knew me... the fan's reply was...

"Of course I know Michelle! *Everybody* knows her!"

... before launching into a full description of my outfit from the last gig I went to :o

music: you know this by now...

You're next to me, you're laughing
You look so happy, I was laughing too

You were innocent, you were kind
You sometimes cried, I was troubled

Whose strength did I ask for that time?
My one and only weakness
It was you, it was you
It was you

I want to see you, beyond the evening
Beyond that time, I want to see you now

You were proud, because you were everything
You lied about that, I really couldn't forgive that

Now I see the dawn
Ah, the smell of the oil and the light of the sunrise
The light on the asphalt makes a single shadow

I'll repeat my failures from that time
My one and only strength
It was you, it was you
It was you

I'm certain
You were there, you were there
You were there

I want to see you
I can't see you
It was you

I think that's about as good as I can do this, but if I think I can improve it, I will (^^)v

About Saturday night...

Oct. 18th, 2009 | 06:22 pm

mood: bouncy bouncy

I've been fangirling on Facebook and mixi since stupid o'clock this morning, because I just had the MOST amazing thing happen...

Now I'm gonna try and explain last night in a slightly more sane way.

A friend on mixi, Hide, told me about an event in Aoyama, where Show-yan was going to be a guest dj in a bar called "Le Baron de Paris" (which is actually a really nice place!). Being a huge raving fangirl and all, me and Hide decided to go, but he dropped out at the last minute, because he has exams coming up and he didn't think he should stay out all night.

Anyway, Show-yan and Kishidan's manager, Yamaguchi-san, turned up at about 2am. I was pretty much frozen to the spot when they walked in... I wasn't even sure it would be ok to talk to them. But, I saw a few other people going up and introducing themselves, so I thought, "Hey, why the heck not...."

First conversation with Show was just basic stuff about how much I love his music, how I'd seen him in concert etc. He was really happy... and actually said he knew about me, because there aren't really any other foreigners in the fan club (which was a total shock, because I didn't even mention the fan club!)

Then he started djing, so I spent some time talking with Yamaguchi-san, who asked me more of the "Where are you from/What do you do/How long have you been here/Where do you live" sort of thing.... he was really happy I'm from England, because Show met his wife there!

Second conversation with Show-yan, when he was taking a break in his set... longer conversation this time, and mostly a repeat of Yamaguchi-san's conversation. He was so easy to talk to! I couldn't believe how cool and relatively calm I was (and how much better my Japanese had suddenly become!). He even put his arm around me ♥

Then, something really fucking major happened.

He asked me what I did. Of course, I told him I'm an English teacher... and he started talking about how much he wants to be able to speak English. So I said to him, in English, "I will teach you English!"

... he took his wallet out of his bag. I assumed maybe I was going to get an autograph.

He gave me his business card.

His business card. With his email addresses, and phone number on it.

I just about lost my shit at that point! I totally undid all my hard work at acting all relaxed and stuff around him! XD I must have spent at least two minutes just squealing and repeating "すごい!本当!わああああ!ありがとうごさいます!", over and over again. This made him giggle quite a lot XD

Then he played some more songs, and taught us a cute dance :3

So, a while later, I emailed his phone, with my details. And a got a reply from him... saying he's looking forward to the next time he can see me.

So, long story short, I just made friends with one of my biggest heroes.

I'm going to teach him English....

About last night...

By the end of this post, you're gonna be kicking my ass for not taking photos....

So, anyway, I got an event invite on facebook on Saturday, for some random clubbing event in Roppongi on Sunday. Nothing unusual there... except it saying that King and Show-yan would be turning up with some members of masurao (their nightclub).

So, I pretty much had to go! Two problems;

1.) It's in Roppongi. Roppongi sucks (T_T)
2.) Event time is from 8pm-5am. I have work in the morning, so I have to leave at 11pm to be able to catch my trains home. Balls.

So, I went to the club, Double, where the event was being held. I'd told my friends on mixi about it, but nobody could make it, because of that work stuff. :(

I basically sat in a nightclub by myself for 3 hours....

The club itself was very nice, although there was a bewildering "performance" by some chick playing a saxophone very badly.... it seemed like she was doing karaoke, but playing the sax instead of singing. Her playing along to "One More Time" by Daft Punk was nothing short of surreal....

Anyway, I digress. 11pm comes around, and the Masurao guys are nowhere to be seen.... but I HAVE TO GO, or I'll be stuck out in Roppongi all night :(

So, I leave the club. Slowly walking back to the station, I ponder my bad luck, and wonder if the event details had been correct.

Turns out they were correct, actually.... coming down the street towards me, was a group of pretty Japanese guys in.... masurao.... t-shirts....

It was them. King was in the middle of the group, looking all serious and cute in glasses and a nice suit (which must have been tailored by a genius, because it made him look like he has an arse), plus a guy I'm assuming was Show-yan, but he was hiding his face with a massive beanie hat and glasses, so I couldn't see him properly :/

I said good evening to them, and they all sort of went, "hey :)"

As they walked past, I turned around and followed them to the club! :3 I talked a little with a couple of the members hanging around at the back of the group.  King and "Show-yan" were surrounded on both sides, so I couldn't get right next to them... I mostly spoke to a guy who kind of sort of looked like Hikaru-chan.... OH MY GOD IF IT TURNS OUT THAT WAS ACTUALLY HIM I AM GOING TO CRY (I wasn't looking at him so much, because I suck at talking to people and walking at the same time.... also, King was in front of me, and thanks to the aforementioned magic-arse-giving suit, I had a very nice view :D Guy-who-might-have-been-Show-yan-but-I-don't-really-know had no arse at all. AT ALL. But he was wearing tails (note the plural)

I walked with them to the club... watched them go in.... and went, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA my traaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiinnnnn" and promptly buggered off back in the direction of the station.....

And that, my friends, is the tale of how I met two famous guys I've been in love with for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages, and I couldn't talk to them despite being something like two or three feet away from them. Balls.

Kikkawa Koji vs Kishidan, 21st September 2009

Sep. 23rd, 2009 | 07:52 pm
location: Japan, Tokyo
mood: bouncy bouncy
music: by now, you shouldn't need to ask

Hehehehehe, of course it was awesome ^^ Everyone had a really great time, and the atmosphere was really genki and positive!

Kishidan's set list;

1. Be My Baby(オープニングのみ)
2. 房総スカイライン ファントム
3. 勇気
4. God Speed You
5. キラキラ

ー MC ー

6. 木更津サリー
7. さよなら世界(新曲)
8. Party Doll
9. One Night Carnival

ー MC ー

10. 友よ
11. 愛羅武勇
12. My Way

Kikkawa Koji's set list;

El Dorado
Juicy Jungle

...aaaaaaaaaaaaand the encore;

Kishidan + Kikkawa Koji - Be My Baby! ^^

So, very nice stuff there!
I met up with lots of fellow Kisses before and after the concert, including my awesome friends Yuko and Kiko-yan! And everyone kept coming up to me and taking my photo... it's kind of fun being an attention whore by accident ;)

Kishidan cosplayers

Here's is one of many. many photos I was in.... unfortunately, most of them are on other people's phones ><;;

Anyway, now on to the actual concert!

Got reasonably close to the stage, which was nice! Kishidan were on first. Awesome as usual! And they played a couple of their new songs (Kisarazu Sally, Sayonara Sekai, and a cover of one of Kikkawa Koji's songs. It was seriously RIDICULOUSLY hot in JCB Hall... so much so that Show-yan took off his shirt halfway through Kishidan's set :P (or maybe he just wanted to strip off, you know what he's like). Sayonara Sekai's really good by the way! And Pretty Doll was a lot of fun (a-foo!)

Kikkawa Koji's set was also really great.... but the audience being comprised of about 90% Kishidan fans (based on t-shirts and cosplayers visible), everyone was waiting for what we knew would be the encore....

"Be my baby, be my baby, be my baby....".... (^^)v

.... but what we weren't expecting was Kishidan coming on stage in some super-hilarious 80s-style silk jackets (and Yukki's feck-ugly wig XD)

Kishidan 80s!

.... yep, that's the Cozeys (pic lovingly borrowed/stolen from Yamaguchi-san's blog). Is it just me, or does Tommy look kinda worryingly skinny in that pic? He should steal some of Matsu's chocolate once in a while :/

It wasn't so much the jackets in themselves, but the dancing they did on the way onto the stage.... good god was that ever funny! Even though everyone was rushing towards the stage (my feet were lifted off the floor at one point 0_o), we were killing ourselves laughing at the same time.

And then the cymbal-kicking contest started....

Let me explain. As part of his set, Koji has a cymbal set up in mid-air, just for the purpose of him jumping up to kick it (Kishidan did something similar in their set, with Hikaru-chan doing a flying kick at a gong that was lowered onto the stage... :D). When they came on stage, Kishidan tried it as well.... with varying results (Show-yan and Hikaru took a couple pf attempts, but managed it eventually.... Matsu and Ranma had the height ok, but missed every time.... and I was laughing a lot, so maybe I missed them, but I don't think Tommy and Yukki tried. Maybe they did, but I didn't see them, because Matsu attempting a flying kick was one of the funniest damn things ever) XD

Afterwards, a bunch of us went to an Italian restaurant for some beers, for the best culture clash ever....
*Most of us were cosplaying, or otherwise dressed up
*drank a bunch of Japanese beer (at least I think it was Japanese beer)
*ate Italian food
*the bgm in the place was AVRIL LAVIGNE..... :/

And some time after that, we all went home.... I went home by train, still wearing my tokkofuku. I am so hardcore XD

Kishidan Midsummer Caravan Tour "On the Street" - 9th August 2009

Aug. 14th, 2009 | 09:15 pm
location: Tokyo (duh)
mood: cheerful cheerful
music: ...oh COME ON!!!!!

Woo and yay! I finally have time to do a little write-up of Kishidan's concert at Zepp Tokyo last Sunday... the final night of the "On the Street" Midsummer Caravan Tour!

This was my 5th time to see them in concert....lucky! :D

So anyways, the last night of the tour had a few things different from the concerts on the 6th and 7th.

*They played "Swingin' Nippon", which nobody was expecting...
*All members threw towels into the crowd (except they all threw the towels pretty much over my head, so I couldn't catch anything, boooo)...and I came THIS <--------> close to catching one of Hikaru-chan's gloves (T_T)
Me and some cosplayers

Me ans some more cosplayers

Me and ...er.... one cosplayer

(there are way more photos of me than this.... about 50 or 60 people took my picture over the concerts, I'm assuming a few are on the internet somewhere, but I can't be arsed to look right now XD)

Goddamnit so much, Ranma was adorable :)
So, he was at the front of the stage... ready to start playing...and then he made a mistake o_0 so, he stopped.... and everyone just went mental, and started chanting, "RANMA! RANMA! RANMA! RANMA!....". And then he got all authoritative :P Just put his hand out in an "STFU" sort of way.... and EVERYONE just went totally silent....Then he started playing again :D
*The end of the concert....
A cover version in Japanese of "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, with added Jrock sprinkles and a side order of WIN!
This year, they had this song playing over the credits at the end of each concert... but on the final night, after the credits, they came out and played it live :D :D :D ! When this song, and "Kisarazu Sally" are finally released, I'll be so happy!
* I finally got a Tommy and the Bonjaskys CD! After the concerts, they had a huge table selling all of the albums, singles and DVDs by Kishidan, DJ Ozma, and Tommy's band :)

*We also got handed a leaflet announcing the next concert, which is a collaboration between Kikkawa Koji and Kishidan! Tickets go on sale tomorrow...
